Cellulose Nano Fiber is made through a process at the University of Maine. Hydrated pulped cellulose is macerate until it is a nano particle. Basically creating a bio plastic. In the early days of 2022, I started working with the material, with the promise to bring other artists with me. It had been produced by the University for over a decade, and only given to scientists and engineers looks for new answers to so many old problems.

That summer in Maine was a drought, sun reigned and rain, did not. Everyday I could be seen by the passing traffic, engaged in artistic research. Here is the thing, between not having access to the University’s Scientists, and withhout a legion of artists ahead of me, there were no rules. As I tell those I teach, it take a solid 3 month to go through every bad idea before you catch a direction that is worthy of your time.
