teaching philosophy…?

Realigning to myself, I have rewritten my teaching philosophy again.

If I am a teacher of workshops, there might be an expectation that I may be a purveyor of craft. What I offer is my social practice through an andragogical framework: sense making.

I want to support art making as thought, rumination and intellectuality. I believe it is part of the balance to have both studio skills and sense making. Why not “teach” what I craved, and wish existed, instead of what is expected?

This is not starting with a concept then illustrating, this coming to an understanding through practice, and walking with what exists…. to make art that is illuminating.
